Portfolio

Tara is not good at sitting still, and can often be found exploring the natural world, documenting what she sees, and communicating about her explorations through photographs, mixed media creations, and writing or blogging.

Photography

Tara has loved to take photos since she was a young child.  Lucky for all of us, she moved beyond taking blurry photos of flowers thanks to a few photo classes and improvements in equipment.  You can check out some of her work on Instagram at TtotheT13, or in the gallery link below.

Shorebird Series: Sanderling

Inspired by bird surveys with the LA Audubon Society, Tara decided to start painting the shorebirds she surveys.

Mixed Media

Tara uses her art to try and bring the natural world to life in new and different ways.  She is especially inspired by birds and flowers, but the natural world and her entire life are her muses.

Writing & Blogging

Tara started blogging for her work with Heal the Bay (you can see some samples HEREHEREHERE, and HERE).  When she left non-profit work, she found that a great way to document her travels and explorations for the future was via blogging.  While personal writing has slowed down while she attends graduate school she still occasionally documents her explorations on her site found below.
